THE INVASION OF THE "DANCES"
Park City Utah is the Capitol of
the film festivals in January. We start with the traditional and well recognize
Sundance Film Festival, (10-20 of January) an exhibition
of work that showcases the best of independent cinema. The Film Festival programming
staff views more than 3,000 submissions each year to select approximately
125 feature-length documentary and dramatic films and 60 shorts for presentation
to an audience of more than 20,000. Another fest getting everybody's attention
is Slamdance
2002 Film Festival (11-19 of January) has invited 12 feature films,
from a record 2468 submissions.
Nodance
Film Festival (11-18 of January), dedicated to first time film
makers in a seven day celebration.
Other festivals hosted in Park City this year are Troma
Dance Film Festival and Lost
Dance Film Festivals.
The Houston's Pan
Film Festival a visionary film program, which stands on the premise
that film should be accessible to everyone and that cinema bridges social
and cultural boundaries, will take place from January 31 to February 3.
